New Civil War Blocks

Hi Everyone -

A friend of mine recently sent me a new blog that Barbara Brackman is doing - a new pattern each week! You can either click on her name above or on the button on my sidebar to follow along.

I'm looking forward to using my stash - I've decided that for 2011 I'm going to be a stash girl :) Think about conserving and do the same! There is a Civil War button you can add to your own site - check it out!

Is It Time?

Hi Everyone -

I've been thinking about the name of my blog and realized that I like some country, some primitive and lots of rustic decorating - and as I was browsing through my past posts I was seeing an eclectic mix of all three! It is so hard to find rustic patterns and stitcheries - most lean toward primitive or country. So I'm in a bind - maybe it is time to retire "And Then Theres Rustic" and give it a new name - what do you think? Or maybe just start designing rustic items? Just kidding:) do drop in and let me know what you think!

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! May your 2011 be a year filled with love, laughter, and joy!

I recently discovered a Folk Art Block of the Month from Dawn Heese. You can click on the button located on the right-hand side of my blog - Folk Art BOM. So far she has done 5 blocks and each is wonderful! Check it out!

I'm looking forward to making out my 2011 project list - this year will be a year to finish up a lot of the projects that never found their way to the top of the pile in 2010!

In light of the economy, why don't you all think about doing the Folk Art BOM - it is free and a great way to use things from your stash!

New Blog and Website

Hi Everyone -

I've been stitching but can't post any pics as the recipients might read and the Christmas surprise would be ruined!

I found a wonderful new blog www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com
hop on over there and check out the new magazine, Primitive Quilts and Projects, that will be for all primitive lovers! You can see a preview on the right hand column - first issue is in April 2011.

I'm Back!

Hi Everyone!

Well, I'm finally getting back in the loop - FIL is recovering nicely from his open heart/valve surgery and my Mom is settling into assisted living. October and November disappeared quickly but I'm just thankful we are close to family.

Now here is a quick peak at what I've been working on:

This pattern is available from Kalico Kreations I'm almost done with the hand applique then I can quilt it and get it up for the winter! We've had a few days of snow flurries but no accumulation - sigh, I do love the snow :)

Below is a snowman I made many years ago:

A friend asked if she could make it in a miniature version, so we gave it a try. I had my oldest sis pick out the fabric she wanted for the hatband and scarf - a real prim plaid:

He is a bit small but next to the big one they make a cute pair. Now I just need to do a "mom."

That is about all that is in the works here - not much, but things are moving along. I'm still working on the wool wall hanging and Santa cross stitch I pictured in a previous post - I'll keep you posted as things progress!
